Movement Dance Academy
Movement Dance Academy has been shaping talented dancers since 1991, earning recognition as one of Monmouth County's most progressive, versatile, and advanced studios. Conveniently located at 804 Broadway in West Long Branch, the academy operates under the expert guidance of Lawrence Edwards, fostering a diverse and dynamic environment for dancers of all ages and skill levels. Join us in our journey of creativity, expression, and excellence in dance!
History
Movement was original located in Eatontown but in 2007 Lawrence an original student of MDA took over as owner/director. Lawrence always had a vision to expand the academy and find a larger facility that would be unique and one of a kind to the area. In March of 2021 he found the perfect space located on Broadway in West Long Branch. Movement dancers continue to receive high quality training in the most unique space in the area.
Facility
Movement Dance Academy is an industrial warehouse space. 25 foot ceilings, massive skylight windows, with rustic industrial aesthetics. Nothing in the area looks and feels like this! An industrial warehouse dance studio with an urban edge!
Performance Opportunities
ANNUAL STUDENT RECITAL
At the conclusion of each academic year, Movement Dance Academy proudly presents its annual student recital. These shows are held at the Brookdale Community College Performing Arts Center, Lincroft. Financial requirements for participation in the student recitals include a costume for each class that a student attends and reserved seating tickets for audience members.
